Position encompassed the responsibility for planning and operating the Fire Services Division for the City of Memphis. Reported to the Mayor through the Chief Administrative Officer. Department operated $87 million operating and $7.3 million capital improvement budget. 
 
Department serves a diverse population of 630,000 through eight bureaus, fifty-two (52) fire stations and 1697 personnel. Service delivery includes fire suppression, rescue services, hazardous material response, emergency ambulance service, fire code enforcement, disaster and preparedness and response, and fire cause and arson investigation.
