EXCLUSIVE: Pictures of fashion show face-off

The Battle of the Shields. That's what promoters called it. A fashion show face-off pitting Memphis Police Officers against Memphis Firefighters.

The problem: It was more than a face-off.  Clothing came off. Action News 5 has obtained still pictures and digital video - taken by a guest at the event - which show firefighters pretending to do CPR without their shirts on.

You can see dozens of them in various stages of undress.  The one constant is the uniform. And that's why both the Memphis Fire and Police Departments are conducting separate investigations into this event. You're not supposed to wear uniforms when you're off-duty.

We gave Memphis Firefighter Joe Norman a sneak peak at the pictures. His reaction was instant. "You're opening the door for trouble," he said.  "You're just asking yourself for trouble."

Norman runs a popular website called MemphisFire.Net . He says firefighters all generally know the rules.

"We're to wear our uniforms to work and directly from work. If something's going on and we're going to need to be doing anything on the way home or on the way to work we have facilities there at the station to change clothes," said Norman.

But the police officers and firefighters at the event clearly didn't understand something.

One picture shows how the fashion show wound down.  As uniforms peeled off and the "models" began simulating various sex acts.

There was no comment from either department tonight beyond confirmation that investigations are underway. Several firefighters and police officers have called our newsroom tonight to tell us that this event has taken place for years without any complaint.
